Holey Moley Golf Club on Colombo Street in the central city is a themed, 18-hole mini golf course with a full bar attached, so it's more grown-up night out than kids' venue. The holes are quirky and pop-culture themed rather than the usual windmills, and there's an arcade and bowling next door through Archie Brothers if the kids want more after their round.

Under-18s are welcome but only until 8pm, and younger kids should have an adult with them the whole time, so it suits a family outing earlier in the day rather than an evening visit. A round of nine holes usually takes around half an hour, so two games plus a bite at the on-site bar makes for a decent length visit. It sells out, so booking ahead beats turning up on spec.

There's no street parking, but paid parking is close by and it's right next to the bus interchange if you'd rather leave the car at home.
