Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq is a big indoor entertainment centre on Colombo Street in central Christchurch, part of the EntX complex below the Hoyts cinema. Kids can try ten-pin bowling, a huge arcade with claw machines and VR rides, and hunt for prizes in the redemption shop. It sits right next to Holey Moley mini-golf, so it's easy to combine the two on a rainy day.

It suits families with older kids and teens best, since little ones need a grown-up close by and the venue turns adults-only after 8pm. Food and drinks get ordered to your bowling lane by QR code, and there are karaoke rooms if you fancy finishing off with a sing-along.

There's no dedicated car park on site, but paid parking is close by and the Christchurch Bus Interchange is just across the road.
