Arion Farm Education Park

Arion Farm Education Park is a small hands-on farm at McLeans Island, about ten minutes from the city and just past Orana Park. Kids can hand-feed and pat sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs and donkeys, and there are pony rides sized for children six and under. It suits toddlers through primary-schoolers especially well, and most families spend an hour or so wandering the pens.
There's a café on site for coffee and ice creams, plus a nursery selling plants, and picnic tables if you'd rather bring your own food. Animal feed is bought separately at the office. The park also hosts kids' birthday parties in its party hut, so it's worth asking if you're planning one. Paths are flat and pram-friendly, and it makes a solid rainy-day-adjacent outing since much of it is outdoors with some sheltered seating.
