Adrenalin Forest in Spencerville is a treetop obstacle course set among tall trees just north of Christchurch, opposite Spencer Park campsite. Kids and adults work through a series of courses that start low and climb up to 20 metres into the canopy, tackling rope bridges, nets, barrels, swings and flying foxes, all clipped to an overhead safety line the whole time.
You need to be at least 1.4m tall to take part, so it suits older kids and teens more than little ones, and anyone under 16 must have an adult with them on site. Sessions run up to three hours and you choose how far you go, so a nervous first-timer can stop after an easier pathway while a confident kid pushes on to the higher, harder ones.
There's no café or toilets on site, so bring water and snacks and use the toilets across the road at Spencer Park before you start. Wear closed-in shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a bit dusty, and check the website for current hours and to book, as sessions do fill up.
