Paper Fan Workshop

Celebrate Tuvalu Language Week with a hands on school holiday activity creating ili/fans inspired by Tuvaluan culture and the ocean environment.

Tamariki will design and make their own ili while learning how patterns, materials, and adornment reflect identity, community, and relationships with land and sea.

This creative session supports conversations around sustainability, climate resilience, and the vital role language plays in passing on cultural knowledge and environmental care—bringing Tuvaluan stories and values into the library space.
